How To Grow German Chamomile From Seed: Chamomile seeds can be sown directly where they are to grow when risk of heavy frost has passed, or started earlier indoors using seedling modules or small pots.
Sow a pinch of seed in each cell/pot, or directly in the garden. Chamomile seeds need light to germinate, so press them into damp soil, and leave them uncovered. Germination can take two weeks. Keep moist throughout. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot. Give each plant 25cm of space in its final position.
German Chamomile can grow up to 50cm in height. Its flowers can be ready to harvest in as little as 8 weeks from planting. If you leave some flowers unharvested, it will self seed itself for the following year.
